WHAT IS EATING OUR MULBERRIES?

Our
mulberry trees are 3 and 4 years old and have never had a problem until
this spring. Something is eating the buds and the bark. In fact, one
of the trees has been ringbarked and may not make it. All they have
left is the last 10cm or so of each branch.
We have dozens of other
fruit trees and many vegies, and nothing else have been touched. Would
anybody know what is eating it and what we can do about it?
